Rukungiri District has been crowned the champions of the Uganda National Scouts Training and Competitions 2024.
The event, which took place from Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Kaazi National Training and Camping Ground in Wakiso District, concluded on August 28, 2024.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that Rukungiri District has won the competition, with Bishop Kyabugashe High School leading as the overall winner in the Rovers category with 338 points, followed by Kashenyi Secondary School.
The trophy will be handed over to the District Administration on Friday at 10 a.m.
Yahaya Tuesday, Chairperson of the Rukungiri District Scouts Association, credited the success to high-quality training and expertise in the field. He urged the heads of scouting schools to incorporate scouting into their timetables to prevent complacency.
Getrude Tushemereirwe, Vice Chairperson and head of instructors, commended the participants for their exemplary discipline and determination.
Rita Ainembabazi from Kyaruhotora Primary School and Rita Natuhurira from Nyabitete Primary School attributed their success to effective guidance from their instructors, emphasizing that discipline and hard work were key to their achievements.
