Rukondo Primary School Primary Seven candidates have been dedicated to God ahead of their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) during a thanksgiving and dedication service held at St. John’s Church of Uganda, Rukondo Parish, Rujumbura Archdeaconry in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

It was a day filled with joy and happiness as 19 P.7 candidates, together with teachers, parents, and church members, gathered to thank God and seek His blessings ahead of the national examinations scheduled for Monday and Tuesday next week. The briefing exercise will take place on 31th October 2025.

While sharing the Word of God, Ordinand Hannington Tumutegyerize, the Lay Reader at St. John’s C.O.U Rukondo, thanked God for bringing the candidates this far in good health. He urged them to put all their trust in God, reminding them that success comes when one commits their plans to the Lord, citing Proverbs 16:3 — “Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed.”

He further encouraged the pupils to believe in themselves regardless of their family backgrounds or any negative words spoken against them. He emphasized that with faith in God, they can overcome any challenge and succeed. He called upon them to surrender to God even while in the examination rooms, assuring them that He can turn every impossibility into success.

Reverend Henry Musinguzi, the Parish Priest of St. John’s C.O.U Rukondo, also urged the candidates to be confident as they prepare for their exams. He reminded them that the same God who knew them before they were formed in their mothers’ wombs will surely see them through without any disturbance. He advised them to make God their closest friend, assuring them that He will, in turn, draw closer to them.

Phoebe Tugeineyo, a parent of one of the candidates, thanked God for the gift of life and good health of all learners. She also appreciated the teachers for their tireless efforts in preparing the pupils for the exams, even during the period when teachers were on industrial action. She expressed confidence that the candidates would excel, with God’s help.

The headteacher, Mr. Samson Tindiwegyi Brown, thanked the Almighty for enabling them to start and successfully complete the academic year. He highlighted the teachers’ commitment to preparing the candidates, even during the teachers’ strike, ensuring that no learning time was lost. He also appreciated the School Management Committees (PTA and Board of Governors) for their continued support, expressing strong hope for excellent results through God’s grace.

One of the candidates, Emmanuel Twijukye, thanked God for enabling their parents to provide school fees and scholastic materials. He also expressed gratitude to their teachers for their dedication, especially during the holidays when they continued to coach them in preparation for the exams. He pledged that they will work hard and excel with flying colors.
