Rukiga district has emerged as the top-performing district in the Kigezi Sub-region, securing the 73rd position nationally in the recently disclosed 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
In the district rankings, Rukiga stood out in the region with an impressive average of 22.2, earning it the 73rd position at the national level. Following closely was Rukungiri district, boasting a 22.3 average and securing the 76th position nationally. Kanungu district claimed the third spot with a 23.3 average, placing it at the 85th national position.
Kabale district followed suit, securing the fourth position in Kigezi and the 90th position nationally with an average aggregate of 23.8. Rubanda claimed the 92nd position nationally with the same average, while Kisoro district concluded the list with a 24.2 average aggregate, securing the 98th position nationally.
Municipalities also demonstrated their academic prowess, with Rukungiri municipality clinching the fifth spot nationally and the first in Kigezi, boasting an average aggregate of 15.2. Kabale municipality followed suit, securing the sixth national position with a 15.7 average aggregate, and Kisoro municipality claimed the eighth spot at the national level with a 16.1 average aggregate.
