Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, has unveiled plans to allocate a budget for maintaining the Bushuura Water Project, ensuring a reliable water supply for the community. This initiative highlights his dedication to service delivery and the well-being of Rubanda District residents.
Chairman Kasyaba made this announcement during a sensitization meeting with officials from TechnoServe HortiMAP and Rubanda Fruit Farmers regarding the upcoming Bushuura Water Project. The meeting took place in Ruhasya Cell, Bushuura Ward, Hamuhambo Town Council, Rubanda District.
During his address, Kasyaba assured that most villages in the ward would be connected to the water project. He also revealed plans to establish a sustainability budget and form a local maintenance team to oversee the project’s long-term functionality. Additionally, he commended TechnoServe for their work in the district and stressed the importance of keeping politics separate from development projects.
The Bushuura Water Project is a collaborative effort between Rubanda District and TechnoServe’s HortiMAP program, which seeks to enhance farmers’ livelihoods by improving access to reliable water sources. Under this partnership, HortiMAP is offering technical assistance and support to ensure the project’s successful implementation.
Grace Byamugisha, Coordinator of TechnoServe HortiMAP, lauded Chairman Kasyaba for his non-partisan approach to the project. She praised his commitment to prioritizing service delivery, which has played a crucial role in bringing much-needed water to the community.
