Reverend Johnson Byekwaso has been installed as the parish priest of St. John’s Church of Uganda, Burembo Parish, in Bugangari Archdeaconry.
The induction was led by Venerable Erasmus Barangyirana, the Archdeacon of Bugangari Archdeaconry, who urged Christians not to be lovers of the world, but to give themselves wholly to the word of God as they patiently wait for their reward in the life after death.
He further described Reverend Johnson Byekwaso as hardworking, citing his service in many churches. He praised him for faithfully answering his calling and urged him to keep the fire burning. He also encouraged believers to humble themselves and let Christian values be evident in their daily lives.
The Head of Laity at St. John’s C.O.U Burembo Parish, Moses Arinaitwe, thanked the Christians of Burembo and all stakeholders for making the day a success. He also commended Reverend Johnson for his achievements so far, such as initiating the church expansion project, spreading the word of God, constructing two classroom blocks at Burembo Primary School, and many others.
He further expressed their commitment to completing the church expansion, planting more coffee and banana plantations to increase church income, completing the church quarters, and pursuing many other developments.
In his speech, Reverend Johnson Byekwaso expressed joy and gratitude, thanking everyone for attending and describing the event as a dream come true. He thanked God for healing him from wounds he sustained a few years ago.
He pledged his commitment to work with stakeholders and Christians to fulfill the mission God has called them to.
