Reverend Rodgers Ntoriine has been installed as the parish priest of St. Mark Mabanga C.O.U, Kakinga Archdeaconry.

The induction was led by Venerable Andrew Kananura, Archdeacon of Kakinga Archdeaconry, who urged believers and priests to embrace humility, just like Jesus Christ did when He left His Lordship and came to die for us sinners. He urged Christians to love, respect, and work with their parish priests rather than fight them.

Venerable Andrew urged parish priests to feed the flock always and pray for the people, just as they were called to do — to feed the flock willingly and be good examples to them. He said they should not serve to please people but to serve God who called them, and He will journey with them and reward all those who serve Him faithfully. He added that they should take all their burdens to God because He cares.

Head of Laity at St. Mark Mabanga C.O.U, Ssegawa Moses, thanked God for having seen this day to accomplishment, saying it was their dream. He thanked the office of the Diocese for having sent them Reverend Ntoriine, whom he described as true and hardworking, having paid church debts (quarters) in the shortest possible time they have worked with him.

He further thanked Christians for working together to ensure that this day was a success. He said they are looking forward to planting coffee on the church land to increase church sales, finishing the Diocesan quarter, completing the Reverend’s house, and plastering the church.

Reverend Ntoriine Rodgers, in his speech, affirmed that he is doing his work well during the time he has been at St. Mark Mabanga C.O.U and said he is willing to work with them and build the church to greater heights and serve them willingly.

He further thanked Christians for having worked with him and urged them not to tire of giving unto God.

Chairman LC5 Rukungiri District, Geoffrey Kyomukama, who was in attendance as well, congratulated Reverend Rodgers and his wife for their service during the time they have been with them and promised to work with them always.

He further thanked the Church for preaching the Gospel and promoting development, saying they are working hard as well — for example, the rehabilitation of hospitals, having worked on Karuhembe Health Centre II and rehabilitating schools, saying they have three seed schools in the district.
