Rev. Father Fudeli Ndagijimana, the Kabale Diocese Pastoral Coordinator, has encouraged students to focus on activities that will enhance their careers and provide future opportunities.

He delivered this message on Saturday, September 28, 2024, during his homily as the main celebrant of the Patron Saint Jerome commemoration and the award ceremony for the best UACE performers of 2023 at St. Jerome Secondary School Ndama, located in Kebisoni Town Council, Rukungiri District.

St. Jerome Secondary School Ndama holds an annual celebration in honor of their patron saint, Jerome, who is recognized as a Father of Church Doctrine who translated the Bible from Hebrew and Greek into Latin, which is still widely used in teaching the Word of God.

Father Fudeli Ndagijimana emphasized the importance of being prayerful, living purposefully, and maintaining a positive attitude, which he believes will add value to the students’ careers and position them for future opportunities.

Mzee John Barisigara, the Chairperson of the PTA, commended parents for their efforts in constructing a high-quality administration block. The block, which houses offices for the head teacher, bursar, heads of departments, and a boardroom, is valued at over 380 million Ugandan shillings. He called on parents to collaborate with teachers in instilling discipline and imparting skills that will shape students’ future integrity.

Rev. Father Ignasius Arinaitwe, the Chairperson of the Board of Governors and Assistant Priest of Rwamagaya Catholic Parish, praised the staff for their hard work in making the school reputable. He urged parents to trust the staff to deliver quality education.

Alphonse Byamukama, the head teacher, expressed gratitude to the Bujeni family for founding the school and commended the support from former students. He noted that St. Jerome Secondary School Ndama is growing into an international institution, attracting students from South Sudan, and assured parents of satisfactory services.

During the celebrations, the St. Jerome Old Students Association (JOSA), chaired by Murindwa Issa, donated scholastic materials including books, mathematical sets, pens, and pencils worth over 2 million shillings. They also launched an annual sports league as part of their ongoing support for the school, pledging continued assistance.
