Reverend Benson Nahoora, the parish priest of Kamahuri Parish and headteacher of Kamahuri Primary School, urged Christians to always thank God for the gift of life despite the challenges they face.
Rev. Benson made these remarks during a sermon at the Thanksgiving service for the family of Mr. Natweta Mathias, also known as John Jones Ruteekama, at Kachambiro Church of Uganda in Itojo Archdeaconry, South Ankole Diocese. He noted that some people fail to give thanks to the Lord or offer a portion that doesn’t reflect the blessings they have received from God.
He praised John Jones for his gratitude towards the Lord, emphasizing that God has blessed many people with success, yet not all reciprocate His love. He also highlighted that God has endowed each person with unique talents, enabling them to achieve different things regardless of gender. He commended John Jones for his contributions to journalism, which promote unity among people from various regions.
Maanige Wenceslas, the Director of Boona FM, applauded John Jones for his hard work and dedication to both his job and family. He also expressed his appreciation for Mrs. Molly Natweta, acknowledging her as a supportive wife who has helped develop their home despite her husband’s work commitments.
Namanya Santrina Kakyene, the station manager of Boona Radio, congratulated John Jones on his achievements, attributing his success to hard work and commitment to God.
Mr. Natweta Mathias John Jones Ruteekama expressed his gratitude to the Lord for the courage, life, and achievements he has experienced. He explained that the Thanksgiving event aimed to raise funds for furnishing the altar of their newly constructed church, Kachambiro Church of Uganda. He also thanked his wife, Mrs. Molly, for her support amid life’s challenges.
The Thanksgiving service was attended by notable figures, including Hon. Roland Kaginda, the former Rukungiri Municipality legislator, and Mr. Owakukirooru George from the Ntungamo district leadership, among others.
