The Rukungiri Deputy RDC, Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom has tasked the retired head teachers to be responsible citizens in their areas, be good examples to the public, and support government programs.

Ongom said these today in a meeting with the Rukungiri district Retired Head Teachers Association where he urged the retired head teachers to cooperate and join hands through their association to develop themselves.

He urged the head teachers to use the pension responsibly by investing it in productive projects like planting coffee and collaborating with the district authorities to help them get government assistance.

Geoffrey Kyomukama, the Chairperson LC 5 of Rukungiri district challenged the head teachers to feed on a balanced diet and always go for medical checkups to know the state of their health as their age now is easily affected by diseases such as blood pressure and diabetes among others.

He tasked the head teachers to get rid of things that lead to stress, especially domestic violence and acquiring bank loans. He asked them to make good wills that would not bring chaos to their family.

The chairperson of Rukungiri District Retired Head Teachers Association, Mr. Turyazayo David Kapiira applauded the Office of the RDC, CAO, and Chairperson LC5 for attending their meeting to which he said that the guidance they rendered to them was very much needed.

According to Kapiira, the meeting was intended to uplift the social economic life of the retired head teachers under the umbrella of Rukungiri District Retired Head Teachers Association and pledged to support the district and government programs.
