Isaiah Byarugaba Kanyamahane, the Resident District Commissioner of Ntungamo, has urged service organizations to spearhead a shift in community mindsets, warning that the declining spirit of voluntarism could lead to disastrous consequences.
Speaking at a fundraising dinner for the Rotary Club of Ntungamo at the Bump Hotel in Ntungamo Town, Kanyamahane emphasized that addressing diseases, implementing core government programs, and combating rising corruption in government offices require a collective effort. He highlighted that organizations like Rotary and Lions International offer a platform for membership that can help train communities to tackle these pressing challenges.
He called on club members to increase their marketing efforts to attract more volunteers to serve the community.
Rotary Club President Johnson Mwijusya, also the Principal of Kibatsi Technical Institute, stated that the dinner was a key initiative to support the international foundation, which backs important projects in the district.
