The Rukungiri RDC Steven Nsubuga on Monday commissioned a project worth 46.6 million Uganda shillings at Rukungiri Health Center IV Rwamahwa in Rukungiri Municipality.

According to Kenneth Mbabazi Tumushabe from ISHEBA contractors company limited that was contracted to do the project, the project was to renovate the former general ward, make a minor theatre as the facility is looking forward to having a major theatre soon.

Mbabazi said that he started this work in May and finished it in a period of 3 months that the company had agreed with Municipal authorities.

David Tumwesigye the Eastern division chairperson and a section of Municipal councilors said that it has been their concern as authorities because Rukungiri Health Center 4 has been lacking a theatre yet it is the facility that is in the center of the Municipality and even district.

They hailed the government of Uganda for the support that has availed the minor theatre at the facility, noting that people will no longer travel long distances for services.

While officiating at the function, RDC Nsubuga challenged medics to serve people passionately since the government is doing everything possible to avail services at the facility.

He also added that the government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health is soon constructing a major theatre building at a cost of 670 million shillings revealing that UPDF has already been contracted to do this work.
