The Bishop of Kabale Diocese the Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira has urged parish priests together with their parish committees to secure land titles for church land to protect it from land grabbers.
Bishop Rubaramira was yesterday commissioning a presbytery at Rwamagaya parish in Ruhinda subcounty Rukungiri district .
Bishop Rubaramira noted the increasing cases of land conflict attributed to greed and directed clerics in the diocese to process land titles
He added that the diocese has already passed a yet to be signed diocesan land policy which will guide them on how to secure land titles
Vanasio Natuhwera Bagateireyo the chairperson Rwamagaya catholic parish council said they are already processing their parish land titles and launched a fundraising drive to secure shillings 40m to facilitate the process

She thanked the parish priest of Rwamagaya parish Rev. Fr Charles Mugabe together with the catholic community for setting up banana and coffee plantation and piggery projects that are helping the parish to generate income.
