Police in Kiruhura district have released the identities of the victims involved in the fatal accident that occurred on Friday, 13th February 2026, along the Mbarara-Lyantonde highway. The tragic collision involved two vehicles, including a Toyota Hiace, and claimed eight lives.
The identified victims are:
Musinguzi Victor, a 30-year-old male from Ibanda district
Otaki Charles, 49, from Oyam district
Abdu Sserugo from Nsangi, Wakiso district
Lukyamuzi Godfrey from Kinoni, Lwengo district – the driver of a drone involved in the accident
Kitone Julius from Masaka
Ajidra Bosco from Maracha district
Agaba Onesmas, 45
One victim remains unidentified as investigations continue.
The Police have urged anyone with information regarding the unidentified individual or the circumstances of the accident to come forward.
SP Kasasira Samson, Police Regional Commander for Rwizi, confirmed the release of the names and continues to oversee the ongoing investigations.
