Police in Rubirizi District are hunting for unknown assailants who murdered a seven-month-old child in a suspected case of human sacrifice.
The incident occurred in Mubanda C Village, Mubanda Parish, Ryeru Sub-County, Rubirizi District, at an unknown time and date but was reported on March 3, 2025, by Julius Barigye.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased had not yet been identified at the time of reporting.
It is alleged that Barigye, 55, a resident of the same area, received information from his neighbor, Kayebwa, who had discovered the body of a seven-month-old child dumped in her garden. The body was wrapped in a blood-stained white cloth.
The deceased was found without a head, arms, and partially missing legs.
Tumusiime said the body was taken to Rugazi Health Center IV for a postmortem as investigations continue.
