The territorial police in Kabale are currently detaining one individual named John Paul Kasirye, and they are actively pursuing his associate who is currently on the run, allegedly for involvement in a computer misuse case.

Kasirye, a resident of Nansana Kampala, was apprehended on March 6, 2024, at Shumuk Forex Bureau in Kampala, where he is employed.

According to reports, between February 26th and 28th, 2024, the suspects unlawfully accessed the email account of Safari Vocational and Travel Services owned by Jason Nuwamanya, located in Kabale. They allegedly tampered with invoice details, substituting their own, resulting in the misappropriation of fifteen thousand USD intended for a tourist visiting Uganda from Austria.

Authorities are currently conducting inquiries and intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend the second suspect, to bring them before the courts of law.
