A wave of celebrations swept across Rukungiri district as schools and headteachers expressed joy over the excellent performance of their pupils in the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results.
At St. Paul’s Community Nursery and Primary School, located in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, 36 pupils passed in First Grade, and 26 in Second Grade, totaling 62 pupils who sat for the PLE 2024.
At Kinyasano Boarding Primary School, Headteacher Tumushangye Barnard announced impressive results, with 96 pupils in Division One and 40 in Division Two, totaling 136 pupils who sat for PLE 2024. He commended the commitment of teachers and pupils in achieving this success.
At Bugyera Kitojo primary school in Buyanja Sub-county, 39 pupils sat for the PLE in 2024. Fourteen achieved Division One, while the other 25 were placed in Division Two.
Brain Trust Nursery and Primary School Kasoroza, led by Headteacher Agasha Wilberforce, registered 32 candidates in Division One, with two pupils, Akanyijuka Bright and Ahabwe Daniella, scoring 4 aggregates, and one candidate in Division Two. Agasha attributed the results to completing the syllabus on time and rigorous revision programs.
According to Mugisha Bruno, the headteacher of Nyakibale Boarding Primary School located in the Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality, out of the 146 pupils who sat for the PLE in 2024, 102 scored Division One, while 44 scored Division Two.
At Rukungiri Modern Primary School, 73 pupils sat for the PLE in 2024. Forty-eight pupils achieved Division One, while another 25 were placed in Division Two, with three pupils scoring 6 aggregates, according to the official results seen by our reporter.
At Buhunga Primary School, a government institution, Headteacher Byaruhanga Arthur Muchope revealed that 67 pupils passed, with 20 in Division Two and 47 in Division Three. He highlighted the collaboration between parents, teachers, and pupils as key to their success.
In Buyanja Sub-County, Rubanga Parents Primary School celebrated an all-Division One pass for its 34 candidates, including four pupils with disabilities. Headteacher Namanya Pius expressed pride in the inclusive success and acknowledged the efforts of parents and teachers.
Grace Land Academy Nursery and Primary School also rejoiced, with Headteacher Akamanya Simon reporting that 15 candidates passed in Division One and another 15 in Division Two. He attributed the achievements to teamwork between teachers, parents, and learners.
The students of Buhunga Primary School praised the government for introducing programs like Universal Primary Education, which provides educational opportunities for children from underprivileged backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Nyakibale Parents Primary School celebrated a perfect Division One pass for all 57 candidates, with two pupils, Niwaheereza Rinah and Mugabe Kevin, achieving an outstanding aggregate score of 4 aggregates.
School Director of Studies, Deus Mugisha Atuhaire, expressed gratitude to God for the results, noting that the school prayed for success before the exams. He also acknowledged the dedication of teachers, the discipline of pupils, and the supportive environment provided by parents.
Primary Seven teachers at the school, Kwesiga Robert and Niwandinda Amos, expressed joy and lauded parents for their unwavering support. They emphasized that the discipline and determination of pupils, combined with teamwork, will lead to even greater achievements in the future.
The 2024 PLE results have been met with widespread jubilation, showcasing the commitment of schools in Rukungiri to academic excellence and the collaboration of teachers, parents, and students in achieving remarkable success.
