Police in Kanungu are hunting for a person who illegally drove a vehicle that caused the death of its driver, Tumuhimbise Beston Kabirinda.
This was on Tuesday 9th, 2023 at about 09:00 pm at Kembeho along Kanungu- Rukungiri road in Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that, while the driver of motor vehicle registration number UAV 314H Harrier grey in color, was from Kampala heading to Kambuga in Kanungu district, he stopped at Kembeho, left his vehicle Hydra ling and went outside to check out on something behind his car.
Then, the passenger who was seated in the front seat crossed to the driver’s seat, reversed the same vehicle, knocked its actual driver who was behind it checking out around its boot and the same motor vehicle overturned as that person fled unidentified.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Kambuga Hospital where he succumbed to accident injuries at around 04:00 today morning.
Police were alerted, and the scene was visited by Sergeant Ndyanabo Willy assisted by PC Kifunte Samuel, the motor vehicle registration number UAV 314H harrier was towed to the Kambuga police station yard pending IOV inspection inquiries at hand.
