The Christians of Rujumbura Archdeaconary have presented a new car to Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho, their outgoing archdeacon, who was recently appointed and transferred to Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano as a dean by North Kigezi Diocesan Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe.

During a farewell ceremony, a brand new car Toyota Succeed with registration number UBN 399F was handed to Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho by Lauben Amanyiire Japan, the head of laity at All Saints Church Rukungiri. The gift was provided by the Christians and good Samaritans who raised funds to purchase it, expressing their appreciation for the four years of dedicated service by the outgoing archdeacon.

Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho expressed his emotions about bidding farewell to his colleagues, emphasizing that change is an inevitable part of life and should be accepted whenever it comes. He encouraged the Christians of All Saints Church Rukungiri to forgive any shortcomings he might have had and urged them to cooperate with their new Archdeacon, Ven Dickson Kakanyisa, for the continued development of the church.

During his tenure, Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho acknowledged the support of the All Saints Church community, highlighting various development projects, including the construction of a commercial house along Rubabo Road, which aims to generate income for the church.

In a related event, St. John’s Nyakaina Church of Uganda in Kyamakanda Archdeaconry bid farewell to Rev Dickens Baguma and his wife Justine after eight years of dedicated service. Rev Dickens Baguma was recently promoted as an archdeacon and posted to Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry in Nyakishenyi sub-county.

During the farewell, Rev Baguma expressed gratitude to the church wardens, department heads, and the entire Christian community of Nyakaina Church of Uganda for their cooperation, which enabled the implementation of various development projects. He requested the continued prayers of the congregation and urged them to cooperate with the new parish priest, Rev Boaz Murekyezi, for the continuation of God’s work.

As a token of appreciation, the Christians at St. John’s Nyakaina Church of Uganda presented Rev Dickens Baguma with a cow and various gifts, wishing him success in his new role as the Archdeacon of Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry in Nyakishenyi sub-county.
