The LC3 chairperson of Nyakishenyi has urged residents to celebrate the Christmas season responsibly and prioritize security during the festivities. Speaking to our reporter, Twinomujuni, on Wednesday, the chairperson emphasized the importance of prudent spending, reminding residents that the future is uncertain and tomorrow always holds new challenges.

He advised families to ensure that someone stays home to safeguard their properties, including domestic animals and other valuables, while others attend social gatherings or celebrations.

Additionally, the chairperson called on security personnel, especially the police and crime preventers, to remain vigilant and proactive in maintaining law and order. He emphasized their responsibility to protect civilians and their property while ensuring that offenders face appropriate consequences.

Tumuhimbise Christopher, the Bikongozo Parish Councillor, extended his best wishes for Christmas but reminded residents to celebrate responsibly. He cautioned against drinking and driving, emphasizing that accidents are preventable with responsible behavior.

Christopher echoed the LC3 chairperson’s advice, urging residents to maintain security in their homes and communities instead of relying entirely on higher authorities.

Tumusiime Siira, the Nyarugando Parish Councillor, shared his Christmas message with residents, encouraging families not to neglect their efforts toward a brighter future and economic growth, even during the festive season.

He also appealed to the youth to prioritize their well-being by avoiding risky behaviors such as excessive alcohol consumption, drug abuse, and prostitution, which can have long-term negative impacts on their lives. Tumusiime highlighted the importance of making responsible choices for a better future.

As Nyakishenyi prepares for the holiday season, the community leaders’ advice serves as a timely reminder to combine celebration with responsibility and vigilance for a safe and joyful Christmas.
