The Nyakabungo Town Council Executive Committee, led by the Town Council Mayor Mr. Muhumuza Frugence, held a meeting today aimed at making key resolutions regarding the marking and grading of their recently concluded annual pre-PLE examinations, as well as other vital matters affecting the community.

Speaking to Boona Radio shortly after the executive council meeting, Mr. Muhumuza Frugence explained that the pre-PLE exams are organized annually by the Town Council using public revenue and local resources as part of efforts to promote education and ensure academic excellence among both government-aided and privately owned primary schools in the area.

He extended his appreciation to the Keberengye family located in the Southern Division and the Kyoma family, describing them as longstanding partners who have continuously supported the Town Council’s educational initiatives. Their contributions include setting annual pre-PLE exams and offering sponsorships to top-performing P.7 candidates as a way of giving back to the community.

Mr. Frugence further revealed that the executive meeting had resolved to develop clear techniques and guidelines for marking and grading the Pre-PLE exams, whose results are expected to be released this coming Friday. The committee also discussed strategies to eliminate improper disposal of polythene bags and plans to commission a campaign for distributing clean water tanks to all places of worship within the area before December 2025.

Meanwhile, with UNATU teachers currently engaged in industrial action, Mr. Frugence appealed to the government and relevant authorities to urgently hold meaningful negotiations and sign a memorandum of understanding with the teachers. He emphasized that this should be done immediately to allow teachers to resume their duties in the few remaining days before the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
