Ntungamo Municipality has emerged the best-performing municipality in the country following the release of the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results, achieving an impressive overall pass rate of 97 percent.

According to the results released on Friday, all the 22 primary schools in Ntungamo Municipality comprising 7 government-aided schools and 15 private schools performed exceptionally well. A total of 600 candidates were registered for the examinations, and all of them successfully sat for the PLE.

The Inspector of Schools for Ntungamo Municipality, Mrs. Turigye Gladys, attributed the outstanding performance to the strong unity and collaboration among headteachers from both government and private schools. She explained that the headteachers regularly visit one another’s schools at least once every term to share experiences, discuss challenges affecting learners, and jointly develop strategies aimed at improving academic performance.

Mrs. Turigye applauded the collective efforts of the Ntungamo District Education Officer, Mr. Ntare Denis, the Chief Administrative Officer, headteachers, and teachers across the municipality for their dedication and commitment to learners’ success.

Meanwhile, Brilliant Twinkles Primary School stood out among the top performers after registering a 100 percent pass rate for its Primary Seven candidates in the 2025 PLE, further highlighting the municipality’s remarkable academic achievement.

Education stakeholders in Ntungamo Municipality have welcomed the results, describing them as a reflection of teamwork, effective leadership, and sustained commitment to quality education.
