Leaders in Ntungamo district have expressed their dissatisfaction, attributing the poor quality of road renovations to the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA).

Among the affected roads are Rwashamaire–Kirimiirire-Kyafoora-Omukiyenje road and Rwashamaire-kanyampumo-Ruyonza-Rwaahi road.

They assert that the renovations were not carried out according to proper standards, causing regret among leaders who feel the roads would have been better left untouched.

Amanya Ivan Rwanyakibaale, Chairperson LC. 3 of Rugarama North Sub County, particularly highlights issues with the Rwashamaire road connecting Omukiyenje through Kyafoora, citing congestion caused by the renovation work, which has made transportation difficult.

Despite Rwanyakibaale’s efforts to raise concerns with UNRA’s Kabale branch, promising adjustments have not been made, leaving him without any response.

Atukunda Laban, Chairperson LC.3 of Nyabihoko Sub County, holds Members of Parliament responsible for oversight of government projects, including road renovations by UNRA.

Laban urges MPs to take action before the poor road conditions lead to tragic consequences for citizens, stressing that these roads fall under the responsibility of the Central Government.
