Bishop Patrick Tugume Tusigwire the caretaker bishop of North Kigezi diocese has asked Christians to respect church premises as holy places noting that some people have misused them, especially those praying at night to the extent of tampering with the church alter which contravenes the church laws.
Bishop Tusingwiire was yesterday preaching at the official opening of Rwabukoba church of Uganda in Kashenyi Archdeaconry North Kigezi diocese Ruhinda sub county Rukungiri district.
He asked Christians to make their selves available by using their church as a worship center
He thanked Christians of Rwabukoba church of Uganda and Rwabukoba Kampala chapter together with abanyaruhinda ba Rujumbura for the teamwork that enabled the construction of their church worth millions.
According to Rev.Caleb Karabamu the parish priest of Rwabukoba church of Uganda, their church was constructed within the shortest period of time due to teamwork and cooperation exhibited by Christians from Rwabukoba and the Kampala chapter.
He thanked Ven Dickson Kakanyisa the Archdeacon of Bwanga Archdeaconry who initiated the expansion of the church before he was transferred.
The church construction plans were started by Canon Benson Turamye who organized a thanksgiving in September 2019 led by the former Archbishop of church of Uganda Emeritus His Grace Stanley Ntangali where over 100 million was raised
Later in May 2022, a fundraising ceremony in Kampala raised 81 million shillings.
Turamye said the Abanyaruhinda ba Rujumbura aims at transforming Ruhinda sub county into a model one by developing education, health services, and places of worship.
The Head of Laity at Rwabukoba church of Uganda, Peter Ekyiyasimire asked Christians to embrace development which will transform their parish into a model.
