The Mitooma district chairperson Benon Karyaija Boneza has articulated that the district authorities are belligerent to push gambling out of the district since it has become a challenge.
He spoke today while addressing thousands of mourners who thronged Rwakatara cell, Karangara ward Kabira town council Mitooma district to give their last tribute to Mzee John Kabushenyi.
Karyaija said the district is now invaded by thugs who have introduced different forms of gambling and they are visiting different sub countries enticing youths and in the end taking their money.
He therefore asserted that he would work with security authorities to pursue these thugs out of the district.
According to Syrivia Katushabe the daughter of the deceased, late Kabushenyi was born on 15th August 1947 studied and became a teacher who served in many schools like Mayanga Primary School, and Kyeibare Primary School, among others.
Syrivia said that since 2017 their father has been suffering from ulcers till Monday when the situation worsened leading to his last breath.

During his sermon, the archdeacon for Kabira archdeaconry west Ankole diocese Ven. Steven Asiingwire said that Late Kabushenyi was a hard-working and God-fearing man who served the church for many years as a diocesan pillar.
Ven. Asiingwire also challenged survivors to trust in the almighty God the giver of life.
Late Kabushenyi is survived by his wife Mary Tumwikirize Kabushenyi, 12 children, 35 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
