RDC Mbarara Turyabagyenyi Emmanuel Kateera has officially launched the distribution of gears to be used by VHTs and LC 1 chairpersons in the distribution of the incoming long lasting mosquito nets.

The launching function was witnessed by LC 1 chairpersons, VHTs, the mayor of Bwizibwera Rutooma Patrick Bigambwensi, and health inspector of Bwizibwera Rutooma town council and the health in charge of Bwizibwera health center four Dr Richard Atuhaire at the Office of the RDC.

He explained that the gears distributed include among others gum boots, aprons, t-shirts, sanitizers, stationary which must be used by a specialized identified category of the people.

He further warned that mosquito nets shouldn’t be used for fishing, wedding ceremonies, and keeping poultry but sleeping under for prevention of malaria.

Turyabagyenyi Kateera explained that the Mbarara district was selected to benefit from mosquito nets because of the upsurge in malaria cases that was creating worry for the people in the health sector.

 Patrick Tumuhimbise Bigambwensi appreciated president Museveni and the NRM government for considering the local people by providing mosquito nets and other essentials that help in the prevention of malaria.

He called upon the beneficiaries of the mosquito nets to use them for the intended purpose of distribution.
