The court in Rukungiri on Wednesday adjourned the case of MUPA technical services against Rukungiri district local government and Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company limited till 11th October 2023.

On 10th July 2023, MUPA Construction Company sued the Rukungiri district local government for suddenly terminating a contract for the construction of Kebisoni seed secondary school, in the Kebisoni sub-county Rukungiri district.

In the same application, MUPA also sued Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited for invading its site and starting work, thereby asking the court for an interim order issue restraining Kinombe  Nyaruzinga Construction Company and the Rukungiri district local government from further inference with the construction works.

A temporary injunction was issued restraining Kinombe and the district local government and or their workers or any person working on their behalf, from interfering with the contract site at Kebisoni Seed secondary school until the head suit in a civil suit.

However, the court sitting on 31st Aug 2023 suspended a case of the temporary injunction, allowing Kinombe Nyaruzinga Company whose works are at 90% to proceed with work.

Yesterday 20th Sep 2023, the court sat for the case hearing between MUPA Construction Company, Rukungiri district local government, and Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company about the district’s sudden termination of its contract with MUPA technical services to construct Kebisoni Seed secondary school, where the court adjourned the case till 11th October 2023.

The adjournment has been made because the district’s lawyer has not yet served as it is required.
