The Police in Kabale have registered a fatal road crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
A white Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, registration number UAH 868N, driven by Mutanda Mutyaba John, 38 years old, a resident of Kawempe Mbogo, Kawempe Division in Kampala District, was involved in the accident. The motorcycle, a red Bajaj Boxer with registration number UFR 929L, had a rider whose details are yet to be established.
The incident occurred on 7/08/2024 at about 20:30 hrs at Mwanjari along the Kabale-Katuna road in Kabale District.
It is alleged that while the motor vehicle (UAH 868N) was traveling from Katuna towards Kabale town, and the motorcycle (UFR 929L) was traveling from Kabale town towards Katuna, the rider of the motorcycle veered into the path of the vehicle. The motorcycle collided head-on with the vehicle, causing the rider to sustain serious injuries. The rider was rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police were notified. The scene was visited and documented, and both the motorcycle and motor vehicle involved were removed and parked at the station yard pending inspection by the Investigating Officer.
Inquiries are ongoing.
