As Uganda observe the 38th Anniversary of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Liberation Day on January 26, 1986, various stakeholders have voiced their perspectives on the achievements of the NRM government.
Kyomukama Geoffrey, the Chairperson of Rukungiri District LC5, lauded the NRM government for its contributions to improving transport and communication, education, governance, the economy, and agriculture. He specifically acknowledged the positive outcomes in the previous year’s Primary Leaving Examination and congratulated educators. Additionally, he criticized councilors who impede the allocation of land in Rwamahwa, emphasizing that the area is earmarked for medical housing. He concluded his remarks with a supportive statement for Kyomukama and the NRM.
Rotarian Steven Nsubuga Bewayo, the Resident District Commissioner of Rukungiri, commended the NRM government for the transformation of Uganda from subsistence farming to commercial farming, also noting the country’s progress towards becoming more export-oriented.
Mugisha Albert Rwamugaata, the District Councilor representing Buyanja Sub County in Rukungiri, pointed out improvements in service delivery in the areas of peace, infrastructure, education, and health under the NRM government.
In contrast, Rubarondesa Innocent, the Secretary General of the FDC Youth League in Rukungiri District, expressed dissatisfaction with the overall service delivery in various sectors, comparing it unfavorably to the administration of Amin.
