In a shocking turn of events, the mysterious disappearance of Aryatwijuka Living, a 40-year-old clergyman from the Rubira Church of Uganda, has taken a dark and tragic twist.
What initially began as a search for a missing person has now escalated into a murder investigation, sending shockwaves through the close-knit community of Kyanamira in Kabale district.
Living, a respected member of the community and a resident of Katookye cell, Kigata parish, was last seen on 15/01/2024 at 10:00AM when he left his home on his motorcycle. Concerns arose when he failed to return home by 09:00PM, prompting his wife, Ninsiima Prudence, to attempt to contact him, only to find his phone turned off.
The alarming discovery came when relatives found Living’s maroon-colored court, church books, and church money receipt abandoned along Kabale-Mbarara road.
On 16/01/2024, the missing clergyman’s motorcycle was found abandoned at Lubira village along Mbarara road, eventually reported to the LC 2 chairman by good Samaritans.
D/SP Mukama Hakim, leading a team of Homicide detectives, crime intelligence, local leaders, and church representatives, undertook a thorough examination of the scene.
Despite efforts, the search for Living proved futile until on Saturday, when his lifeless body was discovered at the Kyabakazi River along Mbarara road.
The case, initially filed as a disappearance (CRB 063/2024), was officially reclassified as a murder investigation.
Police took swift action, visiting the scene of the crime, recording relevant statements, and conducting a postmortem on the victim’s recovered body. However, as of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
The community remains on edge as they await further developments in this unsettling case that has sent shockwaves through Kyanamira village.
