The Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, has called upon NRM registrars at various levels to unite and mobilize citizens to ensure maximum voter turnout.
Baryomunsi made these remarks while presiding over a training session for registrars in preparation for the commencement of the registration process on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at the district headquarters in Kanungu Town Council, Kanungu District.
He emphasized the importance of individuals personally registering in the voter’s register to ensure they don’t miss the opportunity to participate in elections.
Additionally, Baryomunsi highlighted the challenge within the NRM party where primary election voter turnout surpasses that of general elections. He urged members to consistently support the president to maintain focus on socioeconomic transformation for the benefit of Ugandans.
Baryomunsi also welcomed individuals from other parties to join the NRM, provided they undergo scrutiny to ensure genuine commitment.
Ambrose Amanyire, the RDC and Chairperson of the Security Committee, assured readiness in ensuring security for the successful execution of the registration and voting processes.
Among the attendees were the District NRM Chairperson, Godfrey Karabenda, District Police Commander Kutosi Titus, and other dignitaries from the National Secretariat.
