In a recent gathering at the district headquarters, leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) convened alongside the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, to discuss the importance of unity in advancing the party’s agenda and enhancing service delivery. The meeting, marked by laughter and camaraderie, saw the minister urging district leaders to foster harmony between technical teams and political factions to ensure efficient service delivery.

Emphasizing the need for the NRM to bolster its foundational principles of social-economic transformation, patriotism, democracy, and Pan-Africanism, Minister Baryomunsi challenged attendees to prioritize unity and collaboration. Among the participants were district NRM chairpersons, councillors, LC3 chairpersons, members of the security committee, NRM secretaries, and other party enthusiasts from Kanungu district.

Godfrey Karabenda, the district NRM chairperson, affirmed the party’s readiness to commence the process of verifying registers and ensuring comprehensive registration. He assured members of the party’s commitment to this endeavor.

During the dialogue, various leaders echoed the call for unity and cooperation. District Speaker Byaruhanga Frank pledged to bridge divides among district leaders, focusing on cohesive governance for effective service delivery. He committed to facilitating council meetings to foster unity, echoing the advice of Minister Baryomunsi.

Representing the LC5 chairperson, Mwongera Henry highlighted progress in harmonizing efforts between the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the district chairperson. He commended the local Member of Parliament, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, for his diligent efforts in securing funding for the district, which will be allocated towards social services, road construction, and socio-economic development.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of unity and purpose among NRM leaders, as they pledged to work together towards the advancement of their district and the fulfillment of the party’s objectives.
