Residents of Rutenga Sub County in Kanungu district have found relief from their struggle against the elements, as the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, stepped in to provide much-needed assistance.
Christian congregations in the area, who have endured the harsh conditions of worshiping without proper shelter, received a donation of iron sheets to roof their churches.
Led by Magezi Emy, a representative of the community, the church members expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, hailing it as a significant step towards the enhancement of their places of worship.
Worshippers belonging to born-again denominations recounted the challenges they faced, enduring rain showers disrupting their services and forcing them to seek shelter elsewhere.
The donation, comprising 42 iron sheets for Omumbuga Church of God, 76 for Mercy House of God, and financial support of shillings 500,000/= towards cementing for Kitagata Church of Uganda, has been a beacon of hope for these congregations.
The recipients, overwhelmed by the gesture, warmly welcomed the representatives of Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, pledging their unwavering support in the 2026 elections
