His Worship Andrew Kabombo, the Chief Magistrate of Mbarara Court, has today, Wednesday, 12th June 2024, adjourned the mention of the murder case of Mbabazi Kelleti to 30th July 2024.
Mbabazi Kelleti, a 25-year-old resident of Kanyanku Cell, Kitimba Ward, Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality, and a student at Bishop Stuart University Mbarara, was killed on 1st March 2024. His body was found in the compound of the Bursar of Metropolitan University, Mbarara Branch, in Biharwe North Division, Mbarara City.
In connection with the incident, Gloria Mwesigye, the Bursar of Metropolitan University, Proscovia Nalweyiso, her neighbor, Steven Owakukiroru, a lecturer at Metropolitan University, and Ronald Tumwesigye, a casual laborer at the university, were arrested.
On the day of his death, Mbabazi Kelleti had left the Bishop Stuart University premises in Kakooba South Division with fellow student Jaberi Amwine for unknown reasons and headed to Biharwe North Division.
The accused appeared in court, presided over by His Worship Andrew Kabombo, and the mention of the case was adjourned to 30th July 2024.
Asaph Tumwesigye, the brother of the deceased, expressed concern about the possibility of the accused being released on bail without their knowledge, reiterating that they had applied for bail in process. Godfrey Asiimwe, another brother of the deceased, expressed dissatisfaction with Musitafa Iga, also known as Tude, the husband of Gloria Mwesigye, approaching their home seeking reconciliation.
