The grade one Magistrate court sitting in Rukungiri has today sentenced Ainebyoona Isaac Alias Buwembo Ibra to eleven (11) months in Rukungiri government prison.
Ainebyona stole a Camon 20 Tecno phone from Virunga home of wines and spirits shop counter on Republic Road belonging to the Director of Virunga Group of Companies Tweyambe Robert Baguma on 17th August 2023 at 10:24 pm, was helped by CCTV cameras to identify Ainebyoona Isaac.
The grade one magistrate His worship Gonzaga while passing the sentence noted that he gave the 11-month sentence because the convict did not waste court’s time and that the phone that was stolen was last recovered by the owner, and Ainebyoona Isaac alias Buwembo Ibra had no record of previous conviction.
The Magistrate warned Ainebyoona Isaac that he had an option of imprisoning him for 11 years but chose to imprison him for eleven months since he didn’t waste court’s time, and even helped Tweyambe Robert Baguma to recover his phone that he had grabbed .
