Mama Florence Asiimwe the wife of the NKD bishop, on Friday, emphasized the importance of women prioritizing their faith over external pressures, particularly in their marriages.
Speaking as the guest of honor at a women’s conference held at All Saints Church Rukungiri, she urged mothers not to succumb to the temptation of comparing their husbands to worldly standards but to entrust their concerns to God, referencing Philippians 4:6.
She emphasized that while challenges are inevitable, seeking God’s guidance through prayer should be their primary response. Mama Florence Asiimwe reiterated the need for women to cease their anxieties and resist the urge to measure their husbands against societal norms.
Ven Kakanyisa, the archdeacon of All Saints Church, commended Joan Kyashemeza, the Mothers Union leader, for fostering such supportive fellowships for women, which contribute to the growth of strong families rooted in Christ. He encouraged all Christians to participate in supporting Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe during the upcoming celebration of the first anniversary at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano.
Rev Edison Ampeire, Missioner of North Kigezi Diocese, emphasized the importance of fathers initiating similar fellowships to nurture strong family bonds.
Joan Kyanshemeza expressed gratitude for the positive impact of such fellowships on families, highlighting the transformative testimonies shared by participants. She urged men to actively participate in these gatherings for the betterment of their families.
She extended her appreciation to Mama Florence Asiimwe for accepting the invitation to address the women of All Saints Church.
