As Uganda observes Labour Day, some residents in Kisoro are raising concerns about unfair practices in the labor sector. Gideon Gakuru, the labor officer of Kisoro district, has called attention to instances where employees face arbitrary termination without justification, encouraging those affected to report such cases for resolution.

Owen Ahimbisibwe, a former Mayoral Aspirant of Kisoro Municipality, has criticized the glaring salary discrepancies among civil servants, highlighting it as a significant injustice within the industry.

The International Labour Day celebrations are taking place at Mukabura Grounds – St. Leo’s College, Fort Portal City, with a focus on the theme, “Enhancing Access to Labour Justice: Essential for Enhanced Productivity.” President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is scheduled to lead the event.
