Police in Kanungu district are investigating circumstances under which a
male medical officer was knocked dead.
The deceased has been identified as Muhinzi David Nyiramanzi who was a
medical laboratory technician at Kayonza Health Center III in Kanungu district.
According to the eyewitnesses, the deceased was knocked on Wednesday evening
by a motor vehicle registration number UAS 264S which belongs to G and C
company and was driven by a yet-to-be-identified driver.
It’s alleged that at the time of this accident, the deceased was on a
motorcycle from his workplace at Kayonza Health Center III heading to Kihiihi
town council both in Kanungu district.
The eyewitnesses say the motor vehicle driver was drunk and was arrested by
residents who handed him over to police for questioning.
By the time filing this story, the body was still at the scene of the crime
pending postmortem and police was yet to release a statement into what caused
the accident.
