The Kisoro Resident District Commissioner, Hajji Shafique Ssekandi Sengoba, has emphasized the need for Parents to invest in Education and educate their children for a brighter future.
Ssekandi conveyed this important message Wensday during his visit to Kabingo Primary School, located in Chahafi Parish, Murora Sub County where he met with members of the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) to hand over a water harvesting tank, valued at over 10 million shillings and capable of storing 12,000 liters of water.
The commissioner emphasized that parents should ensure that their children have all the necessary resources for schooling, such as adequate food, school uniforms, and books.
He said that by providing these essentials, parents will enable their children to attend school comfortably and fully participate in their learning schedules.
He also discouraged the practice of polygamous marriages, citing it as one of the contributing factors to overpopulation and subsequent child neglect. He urged parents to consider the well-being of their children and avoid producing more offspring than they can adequately care for.
Agaba James, the LCV councilor representing Southern Division, supported Sengoba’s message, emphasizing that education is an investment that thrives on academic excellence. He highlighted the importance of parents and guardians prioritizing their children’s education for long-term success.
Nkurikiyimana Benon Erick, the head teacher of Kabingo Primary School, expressed gratitude to the government for their support in providing a rainwater harvesting tank. However, he also highlighted the school’s existing challenges, including limited classrooms and a shortage of teachers.
