Residents of Kisoro Hill Village in Kisoro Central Division, Kisoro Municipality, are voicing their frustration over the poor condition of their roads, which they believe is hindering development. They have highlighted the dust-filled and deteriorating Mateke Road as a major concern, noting that it affects the safe movement of people and goods.

During a community meeting yesterday between Kisoro Central Division authorities and Kisoro Hill Village residents, locals emphasized the need for Mateke Road’s renovation to improve transportation within their community. They also commended their local leaders for their integrity and advocacy on their behalf.

Central Division Councilor Sharif Sherinah reported that the issue of roads in Kisoro Hill Village has been raised numerous times but has not yet been resolved. He urged residents to support each other to ensure community safety.

In response, Kisoro Central Division Town Clerk Mfitundida Angelo assured residents that the roads would be renovated during the 2024/25 financial year. He noted that while some roads were improved in the previous financial year, the remaining ones are planned for this year. Additionally, the municipality will benefit from the USMAID government program, which will support infrastructure improvements.

Mfitundida also advised residents to avoid installing unapproved facilities and to maintain security lights on their properties. He encouraged them to seek guidance from relevant offices to ensure their safety and compliance.
