Rukungiri municipality authorities have recently granted a contract to the Kinombe Nyaruzinga construction company to build the ground floor of the Rukungiri municipality offices. This project is valued at over 214 million shillings and is expected to be completed within a four-month timeframe.
During the contract handover, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner, Stephen Nsubunga Bewayo, urged the contractor to prioritize high-quality work and the use of quality materials to ensure the construction of a strong and durable structure for the Rukungiri municipality offices. He emphasized that Rukungiri has started to benefit from government support due to its peaceful environment and increased cooperation among its leaders, who are now working as a unified team.
RDC Nsubunga emphasized the importance of regular monitoring of the construction progress to prevent substandard work, highlighting Kinombe Nyaruzinga construction company’s reputation for delivering quality work on government projects.
Rukungiri municipality mayor Charles Makuru expressed gratitude for the government’s financial support, which has enabled the commencement of the construction of a four-story building in phases at a total cost of 2.5 billion shillings. This new building is expected to provide much-needed office space.
Makuru also mentioned plans for renovating the existing municipal block, installing street lights, constructing a sical silage, and building a central market, all of which are funded by the World Bank.
Godfrey Nshabire, the director of Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company, said the company is committed to delivering high-quality work and completing the project ahead of schedule.
The event was attended by Rukungiri Municipal Councilors, district councilors, technical staff, and other stakeholders.
