Parents have been urged to raise children in the way of Christ and instill discipline to secure a brighter future, remarks made during the graduation ceremony of 34 pupils at Kihumuro Nursery and Primary School.
The event, held in Buyanja Subcounty, Rukungiri District, was officiated by the school’s Chairperson of Management, Mr. Richard Muhereza. He encouraged the community to actively participate in shaping the students’ future and pledged to support a well-performing pupil from the top class as they transition to Primary One. In addition, he promised to contribute five bags of cement for the school’s top class floor at the beginning of the next term.
“Let us all play a role in raising our children to become responsible and disciplined citizens,” Muhereza said.
The Headmistress of Kihumuro Primary School, Ms. Gorreti Tuhairwe, thanked all attendees for their support and commended the teachers from both the nursery and primary sections for their dedication. She highlighted the importance of parental cooperation in ensuring children’s success and called on parents to actively engage in celebrating their children’s milestones. Ms. Tuhairwe also announced that, by God’s grace, the nursery section has now officially obtained its operating license.
Paulo Gumisiriza, Chairman of the Nursery Section Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), expressed gratitude to God for allowing them to witness the graduation of the school’s “little angels.” He thanked the guest of honor, the parish priest of Kihumuro Hiika, and parents for their continued support. Gumisiriza also encouraged parents to return next year with their children as the nursery section prepares to complete the floor and build a new office.
Fortunate Aineobushoborozi, Headteacher of the Nursery Section, praised parents for their unwavering support and urged them to continue entrusting their children to the school. She expressed confidence that the strong foundation laid at Kihumuro Nursery and Primary School would enable students to excel academically. Highlighting the children’s achievements, she noted their proficiency in English, demonstrated during the graduation ceremony.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the school, celebrating both the graduates’ achievements and the collective efforts of teachers, parents, and the community in nurturing young learners.
