Students from the Kigezi region attending the ongoing Kisoro Scripture Union conference at Seseme Girls Secondary School in Kisoro Municipality have vowed to report any cases of homosexuality if found among their peers and in the educational institutions they attend.
Several students, including Atuhaire Tracy and Ahereza Sheila from Bukinda Secondary School, together with Arinanye Junior from Murole High School, said they had gained more knowledge on how to follow Jesus Christ and live with better behavior. They noted that many students engage in early sexual activities mainly because they lack proper guidance on how to avoid such temptations.
Mahirwe Racheal from King Ceasor University and Ndayisaba Kenneth from Metropolitan International University, among others, added that during the workshop, they were taught about sexual purity and the responsible use of modern technology. They emphasized that many youths have been negatively influenced by pornography through watching films, pictures, and videos, which they said often leads to immorality and homosexuality.
The students expressed their commitment to reporting any such cases if encountered during or after the conference.
