The Kigezi region police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate has described murder cases registered in Kigezi subregion as explained murders with suspects and motives.
Maate was yesterday issuing a statement on the state of security in Kabale district and Kigezi sub region at large during the Kabale district council sitting that was presided over by Flavia Kanagizi Nyinakiiza, the district speaker.
Maate said that the police is doing what it takes to tighten security like never before, especially in these days when different districts in the region are set to hold a couple of function like the Consecration and Enthronement of Rev Canon Godfrey Mbitse as the 3rd Bishop of Muhabura Diocese on Sunday in Kisoro district, Visit of deputy inspector general of Police in Kigezi sub-region and visit of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations for the thanksgiving of Katuna border all scheduled to take place next month.
Maate also said that most of the murder cases registered in the region have suspects and motives known and are even registered compared to unexplained murder cases.
He attributed murders to domestic violence cases, land disputes, drug abuse and criminal minded persons.
