Patients at North Kigezi Health Center IV, commonly known as Rugarama in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, have today received an assortment of household items donated by students from Kashenyi Secondary School.

Seventy students from Kashenyi Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District, united under the Interact Club, to mobilize items including sugar, soap, and detergents. They also prayed for the patients and carried out general cleaning around the facility.

Rotarian Dr. Albert Kaganzi, the Medical Director of North Kigezi Health Center IV, welcomed the donation, acknowledging its significance for patients who sometimes receive medical care amid shortages. He praised the support, noting the facility’s commitment to providing genuine care.

Teacher Barnabasi Muhwezi, Patron of the Interact Club at Kashenyi Secondary School, explained that the students contributed the items themselves and sought permission and guidance from the school administration to deliver them. He emphasized that the school supports this initiative to prepare students to develop a caring attitude.

Esther Akabindabyamu, the Vice President of the Interact Club, revealed that the students willingly contribute part of their pocket money to assist the sick and foster a spirit of generosity within themselves.

Esther Abaasa, a patient who received the donated items, expressed her gratitude, noting that the supplies were of great importance and highly appreciated.
