The police in Kanungu are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Buliga Alex, a 45-year-old Mukiga peasant residing in Rushenyi village, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi town council, Kanungu district.
According to reports, on January 17, 2024, around 09:00 pm , Mzee Bagirana Bernard Mulefu, the father of Ismail (the suspect), discovered a disturbing scene.
While using a shortcut to attend the funeral of Muhoozi’s grandson in Rushenyi village, he came across clotted blood along the footpath. Upon turning his gaze to the right, he discovered a lifeless body. Mzee Bagirana immediately called upon neighbors, including Kasisi, who responded and identified the deceased as Buliga Alex.
The police were informed, and they visited the scene of the crime to document the situation. Suspected blood samples mixed with ash were recovered at the scene. Subsequently, Ismail Arinaitwe, a suspect in connection with the murder, was apprehended for questioning.
The body of Buliga Alex, which exhibited a deep open stab wound on the left side of the chest, was transported to Kihihi Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Currently, inquiries are underway as the police seek to unravel the details surrounding the tragic incident.
