Heads of post-primary educational institutions in Kanungu District have resolved to organize patriotism activities during the initial week of term two in 2024. This resolution came about during the district’s patriotism and planning assembly conducted at the District Council Hall on February 28, 2024.

At the commencement of the gathering, RDC Ambrose Mwesigye Amanyire urged the leaders of educational institutions to give prominence to patriotism and embed these activities within their respective schools. He stressed the significance of patriotism activities in nurturing professionals who harbor a profound love and comprehension of their nation, prepared to defend it when necessary. Furthermore, he disclosed plans for a patriotism training session intended for district councilors and sub-county chiefs.

Isaiah Nuwagaba, an inspector of schools in Kanungu District representing the DEO, implored all stakeholders to collaborate with the recently appointed district patriotism coordinator, Nanjurira Bruce, who succeeded Karuhogo Yefesi. He underscored the importance of this initiative in instilling discipline among students.

Nanjurira Bruce, the district patriotism coordinator, expressed apprehension regarding the low turnout of head teachers at a recent patriotism workshop in Kyankwanzi. He emphasized the missed opportunities for those who did not attend and encouraged head teachers and patriotism club sponsors to engage in the forthcoming training. He assured participants regarding the issuance of certificates upon completion.
