Police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 30-year-old Ben Ayesiga a resident of Karama cell, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi town council in Kanungu district.
The death was reported to police by Byangire Luke 62 the father of the deceased, who reported that the body of his son was found in the bush yesterday at around 03:00 PM
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesman says the deceased had disappeared on Sunday 12/03/2023, and the body was recovered with some signs of assault or scuffle reflected on his injured face.
Maate however says the disappearance hadn’t been reported to the police.
A team of police officers from Kihihi police station visited the scene and the body was conveyed to Kihihi HC IV for postmortem.
Maate says Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the death.
