Police in Kabale on Monday, reported a hit-and-run fatal accident involving a motor vehicle registration UAY 967K Toyota Premio grey in color driven by an unknown driver and a pedestrian Arinda Joab 23yrs a student at Kabala University and resident of Nyakambu cell southern division in Kabala district.
This occurred at about 02:30 pm at Kitumba along Kabale Katuna road.
According to Elly Mate the Kigezi region police spokesperson, It is alleged that the deceased while crossing the road after coming from Datics farm which is on the left side of Kabale direction and was knocked by a speeding UAY 967K Premio that was coming from Katuna to Kabale.
The actual cause was not yet established, but inquiries are at hand. The victim was first rushed to Rushoroza Hospital where he died moments later.
The scene was visited by ASP Baguma O/C traffic Kabale and team who documented it as the body was transferred to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem.
