In response to the directive from Elly Maate, the police spokesperson in Kigezi Sub-region, several churches in Kabale Municipality have implemented enhanced security measures at their entrances. These measures include the deployment of metal detectors and walk-through machines, as well as an increase in security personnel to ensure the safety of worshippers.

Venerable Emmanuel Namanya, the Archdeacon of All Saints Church, highlighted that they sought assistance from Kabale Central Police Station to have security personnel present during Christmas prayers. The goal of this proactive approach is to prevent insecurity, especially in light of the increasing incidents in Uganda involving suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants. Security guards at All Saints Church were observed using metal detectors to thoroughly inspect the belongings of attendees, ensuring a high level of security.

In a related development, Rev Kabagabe Robert, the parish priest of St Andrews Nyabikoni Church, encouraged Christians in Kabale Municipality to give glory to God for guiding them through challenges throughout the year. Rev Edward Mwesigwa of St Philips Bugongi Estates Church urged believers to focus on the life of Jesus Christ, who offers everlasting life, as they celebrate Christmas. The combination of increased security measures and a focus on faith reflects a comprehensive approach to ensuring a safe and meaningful Christmas celebration for the worshippers in Kabale Municipality.
