Hundreds of Christians joyfully gathered at All Saints Church in Rukungiri to attend the first service led by their new Archdeacon, Ven Dickson Kakayisa. Ven Dickson recently transferred to Rujumbura Archdeaconry from Bwanga Archdeaconry in the recent reshuffling within the North Kigezi diocese.
Accompanied by his wife Charity Kakayisa and their entire family, Ven Dickson was warmly welcomed by the congregation in both English and Ruyankole services. During the services, he expressed his commitment to cooperate with the church community during his tenure as Archdeacon.
Ven Dickson shared that he had received training at All Saints Church Rukungiri in 2014 for three months. Subsequently, he was posted to Kinyasano Girls High School and later to Rwabukoba Church of Uganda. Following a promotion to Archdeacon, he had served in Bwanga Archdeaconry for four years before his current assignment at All Saints Church.
Both Ven Dickson and his wife Charity urged the congregation to collaborate with them in serving God’s people, emphasizing the importance of preaching the word of God and contributing to community development.
Moses Muhoozi, the head of laity for the All Saints Church Rukungiri sub-parish, expressed the joy of the congregation and pledged their commitment to work closely with the new Archdeacon as he fulfills his responsibilities in Rujumbura Archdeaconry.
